Defective Products
Texas law makes manufacturers and retailers responsible for the safety of the products they manufacture and sell to the public. Yet, it’s a duty that is too often neglected until tragedy strikes and a defective product causes injury or death.
Products can be defective for a number of reasons, including defects in the product’s design, defects in the manufacturing of the product, defective marketing and inadequate warnings. Most all products have the potential to be defective and cause significant injuries and can include:
- Auto Defects – Injuries that result from a car accident can be caused by defective products. These can include car seats, seat belts, air bags, tire blowouts, roll-overs, sudden accelerations, steering malfunctions and post-collision fires.
- Consumer Products – More people are injured in their homes than anywhere else and many of these injuries are caused by dangerous or defective household products. These products can include defective appliances, power tools, ladders, children’s toys, pesticides and contaminated food products.
- Heavy Equipment/Machinery – Farm Equipment, Construction Equipment and Industrial Machinery
